New Lighting for Mitchell Street Pub – Petoskey Michigan
Today I picked up materials for a restaurant in Petoskey. The owner called Tim Fisher at Indesign to help brighten things up a bit for the lunch and dinner crowd at Mitchell Street Pub, one of the local favorites in Petoskey. The Pub has a very unique atmosphere that can be difficult to duplicate. The pub fare at Mitchell Street is second to none.
Because of the unique pub environment, Tim has decided to use black mono spot fixtures from WAC lighting. The idea is to add light to certain areas of the restaurant, but not be able to tell where it is coming from. We’ll be able to point these fixtures at certain decorative pieces on the walls and over the tables so patrons can see the menus better. I’ll also be installing dimmer switches to all the fixtures so as the night progresses the lights can be turned down to set the mood perfectly.
Fishing the wire in the existing walls is impossible, so I’ll have to use a surface track called wire mold. As you can see from the pictures it only comes in white so what I’ve started today is the painting process. I went to Complete Paint and Supply in Petoskey and picked up some oil based enamel. It’s tough as nails when it dries and is easier to work with than latex. The only day that the Pub is closed is on Sunday so that’s when the work will have to get done. I’m figuring that it will take two days to complete so if all goes well the new lighting will be completed at Mitchell Street Pub by the following Sunday.
