Electrical Repair in Mitchell Street Pub Petoskey Mi
This morning I went back to the pub to take care of a pretty serious problem that I noticed when we were installing the light fixtures. I noticed that the electrical panel looked like it had water entering into it from a conduit when we did the initial walk through.
When we got into the job I took the initiative to trace that conduit to it’s origin. I found that it was feeding the sanitary dishwasher. The problem was that the dishwasher uses harsh chemicals to get the dishes clean and after a while those chemicals corroded the conduit where it came through the floor. As you can see by the picture the conduit is rotted in half and there are bare wires exposed. This allowed water and chemicals to enter the conduit which carried it all the way back to the panel where it was damaging the main breaker.
What you see in the bottom picture is the finished product. all wiring and conduit were replaced back to the panel and instead of thin walled metal pipe which is subject to corrosion I’ve install PVC pipe and water tight boxes and fittings which will stand up to this abusive environment much better.
